The Tayana 37 is the super successful Robert Perry design from the early 1970’s, with over 600 produced and most still sailing. She’s a double ended hull, with cutter rig and traditional wood panelled interior. The Tayana owner’s association is testament to how popular this boat is.
Windsong does not disappoint.
Her original swiss owners cared for her lovelingly for 20 years whilst sailing most of the Atlantic and Pacific. Her current French owner has imported her into French Polynesia so she can stay as long as needed.
She’s traditional in every sense, but with new equipment where it counts. Her spruce mast and boom are original, but her standing rigging and boom gooseneck are from 2007. With mainsail, genoa and staysail as well as an asymmetrical you can imagine sailing many happy miles.
Her engine was replaced in 2014 with a Yanmar 48Hp, so engine hours are low and the service history is regular. Batteries too are recent.
Her accommodation is beautiful with wood panelling in excellent condition. For a 37ft boat there is plenty of space, double forward cabin, saloon with drop down and a decent sized pull-out single, as well as a traditional quarter berth behind the chart table. Again, the care her owners have given her shows with recent fridge, stove and heads.
Windsong is set up with 260W of solar (again recent) inverter from 2016, wind vane self-steering and a basic set of instruments with depth and GPS.
This Tayana 37 is perfectly prepared to continue sailing, listed at an attractive price – download her full inventory to see all the equipment details.
