Building on the wisdom of his previous successes, the Seawind 1000, 1160 and 1260, Richard and the in-house team set about creating a contemporary marvel. The result is a fusion of modern technology and Seawind’s iconic identity, offering designs that offer both practicality and confidence to their cruising owners, with a level of finish excellence second to none.

Seawind 1170 : a seaworthy performance catamaran

Sailing performance was a top priority in the design of the Seawind 1170. The hulls have been optimized for offshore cruising as a CE Category A catamaran, and structural engineering was entrusted to Gurit, a world-renowned New Zealand company, which also designed the 1160 and 1260 models. All hulls are fully impregnated with vinylester resin, giving them improved structural properties and avoiding total osmosis compared to a conventional production catamaran. Carbon reinforcement in key structural areas reduces weight and improves performance characteristics.

The Seawind 1170 layout is ideal for a couple or young family blue-water sailing adventure

The 3-cabin interior layout is ideal for a couple, a young family or a group of friends. The cleverly designed stowage spaces allow you to take everything you need to live aboard for months on end. The galley below completely frees up the saloon, which becomes a real watch, relaxation and dining area. The galley and saloon communicate seamlessly. The large, open cockpit, combined with Seawind’s trifold door system, creates a wide, level space with a barbecue for a true outdoor lifestyle. The Seawind 1170 is a long-distance boat for nomadic workers!

The 2 helm stations are in direct communication with the salon and saloon. They offer a view of all sides of the boat and sail plan, while being well protected by the large rigid bimini. All maneuvers are performed close to the helmsman, for greater safety. During the day, you’re in close contact with the rest of the team, and at night you can stand watch inside the boat and react instantly if necessary. The low center of gravity makes the boat powerful and stable. It’s a real philosophy dedicated to ocean sailing. With 600 liters of water, 500 liters of diesel and a large surface area for solar panels, the Seawind 1170 can sail for many months in complete autonomy.
