Lagoon 380 Owners Version – 2004

The Lagoon 380 remains a firm favourite for small cruising catamarans, and this one is a boat that's been equipped over the years, to be perfectly set-up for cruising.  Her owners bought her 8 years ago and have been cruising 6 months each year and dry storing in-between.

They are long terms sailors, and this can be seen aboard where there are many customisations that are well thought out, both in terms of general cruising and to increase mobility and ease of use.

The most important is the transformation of the forward port side cabin into a work room.  This has been well done and houses extensive equipment, supplies and tools, as well as the water maker.  This makes the boat a 2-double cabin, but for anyone needing the 3rd double, it would be possible to reconvert or simply use the drop-down saloon as the extra bed.

Then there is a hardtop bimini with clears and surround sunshades giving excellent rain protection.  There are extra grab rails on the coach roof; the main halyard leads back to the cockpit (the winch has been removed from the mast and a tidy pulley installed) so there is little reason to leave the helming station when underway.  The gennaker (blister sail) is on a furler, with another ingenious set-up.  To avoid the need for dropping and storing when the sail is not in use there is a cover.  To facilitate reconnecting the sheets where the tack would be too high for easy access, there is a line pre-setup with a loop into which aluminium snap shackles connect the sheets (our video shows this in more detail).  For the outboard engine, there is a small derrick to hoist the outboard engine onto its stern rail support.

Added to all this there so many items of quality equipment it's best to look in the inventory to see all, but for example watermaker; wind, solar and generator charge systems; 2x autopilots; 2x chart plotters; stainless steel anchors for the main anchor and dingy; portable freezer.

The comfort items have not been left out, with a large wooden easy chair for the cockpit, sun lounger mattresses and seats for the foredeck.  There is a sunshade for the foredeck as well so with the cushions this makes is an additional lounging area even on hot days.

Tangaroa has sailed happily for many years, now due to a change in circumstance for her owners, she's on the market.  A much-loved Lagoon 380 in exceptional condition.  Contact for more details.
