Performance & Offshore Sailing

Quille de Joie is a 2008 Dehler 44 SQ designed by Simonis Voogd and built by Dehler in Germany. A genuine performance cruiser, she combines a fast, efficient hull, deep lead-bulb keel and carbon rig with the strength and comfort required for offshore sailing.

Her cutter rig, with furling staysail in addition to the genoa, is particularly well suited to long-distance cruising, allowing the sail plan to be reduced progressively and keeping the boat well balanced in stronger conditions. Her carbon mast, bowsprit and spinnaker pole are complemented by a versatile sail wardrobe including Hydranet mainsail and genoa, Code 5, gennaker and three spinnakers.

Three electric winches, a Raymarine autopilot with remote control make her particularly well suited to short-handed sailing while the three-blade folding propeller helps reduce drag under sail.

Cruising Autonomy

For extended cruising, Quille de Joie is very well equipped with a Dessalator Freedom 60 watermaker, Watt & Sea hydrogenerator, 400 L fresh-water capacity, recently renewed house batteries and Iridium Go satellite communications.

Comfort & Equipment

The interior offers three double cabins and two bathrooms, together with a well-equipped galley including two refrigerators, three-burner stove and oven.

Her cruising inventory also includes a Zodiac tender with Mercury outboard, Delta and Fortress anchors, liferaft, storm jib, offshore safety equipment, spares and tools.
