The choice of boats is wide, and at Sail Tahiti we can offer you new as well as pre-owned boats.  You’ll have your own idea on the models and equipment you like.  What we can help you with is our experience and our access to some great tools to further your thinking.

Using the Excess Catamarans online configuration tool, we’ve gone ahead and imagined 4 profiles, and for each we’ve equipped what we think is a great boat for this adventure.  Of course, we’re happy to discuss this with you – everyone is different, you’ll certainly have your own ideas!

Each of these configurations come complete with mooring, dinghy, tools, liferaft and safety equipment – ready to sail!

Delivery Options

Factory delivery in France: this is ideal if you want to sail around the world starting from Europe. If you are not an EU resident, you will buy your boat tax free. If you are an EU resident, you will buy your boat with European Vat which adds 20%. An alternative solution is to start directly in the islands of your choice, VAT-free.

Shipping for French Polynesia: Sail Tahiti and Excess will manage the logistics of cargo shipping your catamaran to Tahiti and commissioning her directly in Papeete. The shipping cost will be offset by the savings on VAT and you start directly in the South Pacific…this is a fantastic option both from a cruising perspective and from a financial standpoint.

For Excess Catamarans, from the time you order your boat to the moment you first step on board, you need to plan for around 6-9 months.  For Seawind Catamarans it’s closer to 2 years.  New boat builders work off a production line, so you need to reserve your slot.
