The Oceanis Clipper 42CC is a pure cruising boat, in the design and build. Comfort is key, with 2 separate living areas – state cabin aft and queen double forward, both en suite – and a separate galley midships. There is space for privacy on this 42-footer.
The central cockpit is again, comfortable. It has a rigid dodger to protect from wind and spray that opens for perfect air flow while at anchor. The wide aft deck has a stepdown platform for getting in and out of the dingy.
Whilst sailing speeds might not be spectacular, this boat gives a secure and comfortable ride, allowing ocean cruisers to enjoy their time at sea.
From a boat maintenance view, this is a good boat. The large engine room has all technical equipment centralised in one space, well-lit and ventilated. Working on the engine was never as easy!
Paddy Boy arrived in French Polynesia in 2017. She has an almost new mainsail + travellers, fully battened 2015; autonomous with solar & wind power and 100l/h watermaker; Raymarine E7 hybrid touch plotter. Overall a well-equipped boat, well maintained by her owners and ready to take another family or couple safely sailing the oceans.
