The RM 1050 has been an amazing success. Built between 1999 and 2010 before being replaced with the 1060 and now the 1070, it’s a Marc Lombard design, built by RM Yachts in plywood epoxy and winner of Yacht of the Year in its time. One of the particularities of the RM design is the beachable twin keel, meaning all kinds of shallow waters are accessible. It has chined hulls and a reputation for sailing very well to weather and a wide aft beam that makes it a stable boat off the wind. It’s a long range off-shore boat, well known in the French cruising set.
Anastasia the last RM built by SYSBA Marine, so all her interior is custom built high quality and her hull is reinforced with kevlar. She’s the perfect expedition boat and french from cruising via Patagonia to Tahiti with a Cape Horn passage in her log book. Her current owners bought her new and have taken excellent care of her during their 18 years of ownership. You’ll see that this is not the regular RM!
With 2 double cabins, a large one forward and another aft, as well as a technical area aft, she has space for an adventurous family or couple or even 2 groups of friends. The saloon design has 360 view, something that was innovative back in 2001 and has become more mainstream for a monohull.
Her maintenance history is excellent, she has : almost new running rigging + standing rigging from 2014 + dacron tri-radial mainsail from 2014; all hatches replaced and deck repainted in 2014; last anti-fouling 2018. Her equipment list is impressive: a full sail inventory including heavy weather spinnaker and asymmetrical; full electronics; full energy solutions; full safety equipment that you can expect from a boat that’s sailed Patagonia.
If you’re looking to adventure into seldom sailed waters, this RM 1050 is the boat for you.
